Boys Baseball Starts Season off With a Big Win, Cooled off Lately

Winning 11-2 and 11-5 against Devils Lake Baseball Team was definitely an achievement for the Bruins this month, to say the least. The team was definitely surprised with how well this game against them went this year. In the past, Devils Lake used to be one of the teams that it was a closer competition than it is now.

Braydon Dettling, a senior on the team, had explained the outcome to me. “Everyone was surprised with not win, we also impressed each other and we learned we had more talent than we had thought.” Dettling also had explained that the team still thinks that there is still a tough year ahead and this is just the start of making it better. “The season is off to a good start, but our team has a lot of learning to do still little things.”

The seniors this year include Jason Johnson, Tanner Kirkeby, Braydon Dettling, Ben Montplaisir, Isaiah Zerface, Blake Laber, and Logan Anderson.

Since the Bruins early win, the team has struggled. In their most recent game, South lost to Grand Forks Red River 12-3. The team is now 2-6 overall and 1-2 in the EDC.
