‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Review !! SPOILERS !!

Emma Marx, Web Editor

Plain and simple, Godzilla vs. Kong is the type of movie where people expect a powerful monster fight, and that expectation was exuberantly delivered.

The Plot

Humans lure Kong into the Hollow Earth where the APEX were supposedly created. Hollow Earth contains a power source, the only source that can conceivably put a halt on Godzillas plans. When Kong and crew travel there and find the source, the ground lights up in a certain blue hue and it charges up this one ax that Kong uses against Godzilla in the battle. In short, Godzilla wins the battle but shows mercy to Kong since he helped him fight and destroy the Mechagodzilla created by Monarch.

The Fighting

The fighting exceeded expectations. You can really feel the weight of the punches that Kong threw at Godzilla, and you could feel the immense power given off by Godzillas atomic breath when he literally broke into Hollow Earth.

Notable Human Characters

The only truly notable human character was this young deaf girl who can communicate with Kong by signing to him. The young actress (Kaylee Hottle) is actually deaf in real life too and comes from four generations of deaf relatives.

Also if you’re a fan of Milly Bobby Brown, she’s in here for some reason, too, as the Monarch scientist’s daughter.

Recommendation

This is a monster-fight movie plain and simple, and the producers delivered. I’d recommend this movie to anybody who wants to see three (don’t forget about the Mechagodzilla) colossal monsters throw hands. 7.5/10.
