Fargo South is very short on kitchen and janitorial staff. Because South High is short on staff, they have decided to try hiring students to help work in these areas. There has globally, been a huge staff shortage for everyone. So Fargo South’s, and many other places in the US, solutions to this problem is to hire students to help out with the janitorial and cafeteria areas.

Labor shortages don’t just affect us. NPR.com wrote a story on worker shortages too. They say labor is the biggest issue. They said, “Food processing plants don’t always have enough workers to keep production humming, trucking companies don’t have all the drivers they need to haul food from factories, and companies that supply schools can’t fully staff their warehouses”. What does this mean for us? This means that schools don’t get the food that they need to feed their students. How else are we affected? Warehouses are desperate for employees. So desperate, that we are reaching out for students to work.
