Freshmanitis, Sophmoritis, Junioritis, Seniorits

The end of the school year is quickly approaching. Many students are feeling the effects of senioritis, or as Mrs. Schlenker put it, “studentitis” because we are all feeling its effects. With COVID-19 these past few years, this was our first normal school year in almost two years! Everyone is drained and ready for summer to start. But first, we need to push through these last few weeks.

Mrs. Eider’s Tips For Senioritis

Mrs. Eider is the counselor for last names (). Her number one tip was to set short-term goals. She said, “These goals should lead up to your long-term goal of graduating from high school.” In between goal setting and working on them you must remember to also make time for regular self-care. Mrs. Eiders’ favorites are taking small breaks throughout the day, going for walks outside, and getting vitamin D. This is vital, especially after a long winter.

Mrs. Schlenker’s Tips For Senioritis

Mrs. Schlenker also said that goal setting was very important. She added to make a detailed plan on how you will reach that goal. A great tool for this is SMART goals. SMART goals help you make your goal realistic and attainable. One word of wisdom from Mrs. Schlenker is, “Have faith and believe in yourself and take it one day at a time.” One of Mrs. Schlenker’s favorite quotes that were given to her by a past student is, “Hang OPain Ends.”

These last few weeks of school are very important but with that being said, it is also one of the most stressful times during the school year. Between the anticipation of summer, finals, and getting everything turned in, it is also important to take care of yourself as well.
