“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” Review
November 23, 2022
The superhero marvel phenomenon “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” went into theaters on November 11, 2022. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is rated PG-13 and is 2 hours 41 minutes long. This movie was the sequel to the successful film “Black Panther” and the film also served as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Chadwick has dealt with illness privately, so his death on August 28, 2020 was a shock to many people. The director of the film is Ryan Coogler. The screenwriters of the film are Joe Robert Cole and Ryan Coggler. This film stars Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Angela Bassett, and Lupita Nyong’o.
Shuri, M’Baku and Queen Ramonda try to protect Wakanda from western powers after the death of king T’Challa. They later must learn how to deal with the threat of Namor and Talocan warriors. The movie was emotionally moving as you watch the characters deal with the grief of a T’Challa death. The cinematography, music, and costume design in this movie was captivating and wonderful. Hearing the music and looking at the different scenes come together was exceptional.
Throughout the movie characters are mourning the death of their king. Letita Wright and Angela Bassett evoke all the emotions you would face when you lose a king and a beloved co-star. Representation in this movie is great for both the Latino and the African American community. Wakanda forever has great dialogue and storytelling. Throughout the movie I was so invested in the characters and what was going to happen next. The first couple of scenes grip you with the action and the loud sound effects made it feel like you were there.
I would give “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” 8/10 stars and I recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys superhero or Marvel films. The movie was very long but had my attention the whole time and left me wanting more. The movie had a serious tone but also implemented humor throughout. The script was also very dynamic and the special effects were remarkable.
