As we all know, The Walking Dead is a piece of art. While the acting can be sub-par and the writing worse, it holds a special place in my heart, inconsistencies and all. However, this is partially because I am a hater. There are certain characters in AMC’s 2010-2022 apocalyptic serial drama that are just so horrifically irritating in such an unintentional way that the viewer is pretty much forced to hate them. Additionally, characters meant to be awful are not counted. Here is my countdown of the most unintentionally annoying characters, and it will be only from the first four seasons because I wanted to limit the list somehow.

5. EARLY MAGGIE

Maggie is the daughter of a farmer (or rancher or something: he is #6 on this list!) and is introduced when her brother shoots a major character on accident. Don’t get me wrong here, I LOVE MAGGIE!!! But only after season two. I CANNOT STAND SEASON TWO MAGGIE. She is so awful to her love interest and best character in the whole show, Glenn, and they had no chemistry then. It was horrible to watch those two and want to scream at the TV, “YOU DESERVE BETTER GLENN!!” But I’m glad she stuck around because I guess the writers had a change of heart about Maggie’s entire personality. Woo-hoo!

4. LIZZIE

Lizzie is a young girl from season four. She’s basically some psychopath kid who tries to befriend zombies too. Her actress was fine and all but she is SO ANNOYING!!! Everything she said was extremely inconsistent and she was so awful to her younger sister, even before the incident. Huzzah!

3. ABRAHAM

He is so useless to the plot and tries too hard to be the tough, republican, America-loving, mullet ginger guy. The story would have, and should have, gone on without him and his group. He has a bad actor and was given even worse writers so to him I say YOU ARE INSUFFERABLE!!! Hip-hip-hooray!

2. DALE

It was hard to choose a least favorite character, but Dale takes the cake. I need to be careful with my wording here so I don’t go too far– but I did not care when he died, in fact, I cheered. Anyway, he is the MOST inconsistent, most TERRIBLE actor in the entire show. “Ooh look at me I am just a sweet old man with a bucket hat!” GET OUT!!! He’s a ‘nice guy’ and he should have handled so many situations way differently!!! Yippee-kai-yay!

1. CAROL

I can’t even get into how much I despise Carol. It would take lifetimes to even convey a fraction of the intense hatred I hold for her.

To wrap things up, this show is both great and awful. Everything here is lighthearted and I don’t wish violence on anyone, this is all just for laughs. Only watch this if you like the Twilight series.
