The South High football team is seemingly having a good season so far. The first two games were held against Williston and Grand Forks Central, with South High attaining 36-6 and 34-0 wins respectively against these teams. These encouraging wins made players hopeful for a possible win against the Shanley High School Deacons, but they were left disappointed as South High lost 28-49 against the private Catholic school.
“Knowing that they were the returning AAA Champs was a little intimidating, but we didn’t care, nor did we back down,” said South lineman Xander Moody in an interview with the Sudhian – “the scoreboard at the end of the game looks like it wasn’t close… but we put up one hell of a fight and had 28 points to show for it.” Regardless, the loss was very short-lived as the homecoming game put all eyes back on South High. The team played against Devil’s Lake and won by a whopping 70-6, reviving Bruin spirits for a good season. “[It’s] no small feat. We went on to celebrate in the locker room like never before… this year feels very promising for us as a team,” Moody assured the Sudhian. Way to go, Bruin football team!
