Can you survive the nightmarish world of animatronic terror? Get ready to be immersed in the chilling cinematic experience as the beloved video game franchise comes to life! Five nights at Freddy’s went into theaters on October 27, 2023. “Five nights at Freddy’s” is rated PG-13 and is 1 hour 50 minutes long. It is based on the notorious indie game Five Nights at Freddy’s, in which you play a security guard in an abandoned family entertainment center and try to survive for five nights! Fans were on the edge of their seats since it was announced in October 2022.
The film, which was directed by Emma Tammi and whose screenplay was co-written with Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback, is based on a story by Cawthon, Chris Lee Hill, and Tyler MacIntyre. Josh Hutcherson plays a troubled security guard who takes a job at an abandoned family entertainment center at night. There, he learns that the facility’s four animatronic mascots have come to life and are murderous. In supporting roles are Elizabeth Lail, Matthew Lillard, Piper Rubio, and Mary Stuart Masterson. Youtubers CoryxKenshin and Mat Pat both have cameos in the movie as well.
The movie’s music and animatronics were amazing, but the cinematography was mediocre at best. I give “Five Nights at Freddy’s” a rating of five out of ten. The movie’s plot is solid because it follows the idea, but it seemed to lack some of the suspense and horror aspects that make a horror film scary. It was PG-13, so that was to be expected. Beyond all else, I suggest it to anyone who grew up watching YouTubers that either played the game or make videos about it.
