- What is your favorite book to go over in class?
My favorite book is probably Frankenstein, with my regular seniors. I love the messages and the teaching of the language.
- What is one book you think everyone should read at least once in their lives?
I don’t know; it just depends on your taste and what you value. I think we do a good job here offering lots of choices. I don’t know if I could pick one.
- What’s your favorite type of weather?
About 85 degrees, sunshine, very low humidity. So essentially, not Fargo in winter.
- How long have you been teaching at South?
This is the start of year nine.
- What’s your go-to local restaurant?
Lately, it’s been Crisp & Green. They are make your own salad bowls, and they have a really good autumn salad with apples and butternut squash.
- What’s a fun fact most students don’t know about you?
I’m a CrossFitter. I pick up heavy things and I throw them down.
- What’s your proudest accomplishment outside of your career?
Probably that first article that got published when I was in Kent [University], moving from just a practicing teacher to someone who has published about the work they’re doing in the classroom.
- What’s a country you want to visit at least once?
Italy. I wanna eat my way through Italy. I’ve been watching a lot of Food Network over the summer. Not to mention it’s a beautiful country, beautiful language. Art, too; I’ve got to go see the art, the museums and the architecture.
