Leave The World Behind is a movie based on a 2020 novel by Rumman Alam. The movie is an apocalyptic thriller that focuses on the tension and paranoia that arise between two families, Amanda and Clay, which are characters played by Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke, respectively. G.H and Ruth were played by Mahershala Ali and Myha’la Herrold. Although the movie starts with a normal family who go on an island for vacation, things start to change as they spiral towards unusual and weird things. It involves creepy elements such as random deers that appear out of the woods and soon later double their presence, but it also embellishes a message. Besides the abnormal situations the plot starts to arise when the families realize a cyber attack has broken out, which is caused to destabilize the country but is further explained in the movie.

While the movie uses many weird factors it also involves many details that may seem realistic to people, which strikes the audience to have suspicion and many theories about the movie. Overall, the movie does a great job of imagining how the world will end causing many people to question and connect the movie to reality. Although many people had opinions about the ending being a mystery, many people also liked the suspense. Personally, I rate this film a 7/10; it had many interesting details that left clues for me to figure out, but I was also impressed with how it related to current life as well.
