On Thursday, February 15th, a UH-1N Huey helicopter landed on Fargo South’s parking lot. As the helicopter was set to land around 11:45 AM, students were gathered outside in the parking lot waiting for the helicopter to land. It was an astonishing moment as students saw the flying helicopter circling above the school to get lower. Before that moment, many students were surprised and confused when the rumor and eventual announcement spread around. A student from Fargo South stated, “It was so cool that it blew all the caution tape toward everyone; that was funny.” After the helicopter landed, many students got the chance to take a tour of it. The helicopter was a part of the Aviation Inspiration mentorship program, which gives interested high school students insight and information about the aircraft.
