How long have you been at South High?
“This is my 3rd year at South.”
What made you decide to be an ILC teacher?
“I didn’t decide to be an ILC teacher. It just happened to be a position that was open when I was looking for a teaching job (although now that I am an ILC teacher I can’t imagine doing anything else). I decided to be a teacher because I wanted to do something that felt meaningful to me. Being a teacher is filled with meaningful moments and I am grateful each day that I get to do what I do.”
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you have been?
“I don’t know what I would have been. I do know that I wouldn’t have been as happy, no matter what it was.”
Do you have pets? If so, names?
“I have one black lab named Luna. She is 8 years old.”
Outside of school, what are your hobbies?
“Outside of school, I spend a lot of my time with my kids and their activities. I also enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, camping, fishing, and canoeing.”
What advice would you give students?
“Do one thing every day that you makes you a little uncomfortable or nervous. Join a school activity or just say hello to another student that you don’t know. Big or small, just force yourself out of your comfort zone. It’s the only way to grow.”
