Boys Cross-Country: The Bruins put in the work this season. On October 26, North Dakota Cross Country state occurred. The Bruins’ expectations were low team-wise, but higher for individual performances. This is because they did not have many runners on the team and are overall a younger team. The individual performances at state for the Bruins were good with multiple personal bests and one runner achieving a Season best run. Overall, The Bruins should be pleased with their state performance as they have room to grow for the future years to come as it is mainly a young team.
Girls Cross-Country: The Bruins had a similar mentality and performed similarly to the Boys Cross-country team at State. As the same amount of personal records were set with three, but there was more season best runs with two. Although their standing at state was low due to the lack of numbers, they showed true perseverance by still accomplishing a lot as individual runners.
Volleyball: The Bruins have showed toughness this season with not allowing the teams record affect their play. The Bruins are 7-14 and a half of a game behind Fargo North, who is the 8th seed in EDC. There toughest games they have won so far have been against Fargo North (8-12) and Valley City (8-12) but have lost close games against Horace (13-6) and Red River (11-9).
The Bruins’ last game of the season against the Grand Forks Central Knights is coming up on November 7th. It is their last home game and, therefore, senior night. The Bruins expectations for their game against the Knights are high as they have already beat them handily this year. As a school, we should come to the game, cheer for the seniors’ last game, congratulate the seniors for their service as Bruins, and wish them luck in the next chapter of their education and playing career.
