With the holidays quickly approaching, watching movies is the best way to get into the jolly spirit. The Grinch is such a great movie for the holiday season, but the animated one by DreamWorks (2018), is the one to watch.

23.5% of students voted on liking the animated 2018 Grinch better than the Jim Carrey version, and I’d have to agree. Some students said the animated Grinch is way less scary. The Jim Carrey version of the Grinch does a very realistic take on his looks and at times he look too realistic. The animated one have a more bright, fun, and chill vibe that everyone of all ages can enjoy.

And moving on to the music. Tyler, the Creator is featured in the film, with a revamped version of  “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,”. The whole soundtrack feels very modern and fresh, giving the movie a new life to it’s audience. The animated Grinch also feels more relatable. In the newer one he’s as dramatic and chaotic as Jim Carrey’s grinch is. In the animated one the grinch is more of a grumpy guy who hates the holidays. It’s funny and the plot line is easier to follow for either little kids, or people who just want something to put on.

Jim Carrey’s Grinch is a classic, but if you’re looking for something a little more colorful and fun with good music, the animated Grinch is definitely one to add to your holiday watchlist.
