The Leprechaun and the Easter Bunny are the two faces of our dearest spring holidays – Leprechaun being the Irish mascot of St. Patrick’s Day, and the Easter Bunny part of the tradition of Easter. With these holidays compared, many have asked a pressing question: who would win in a fight? In the March 2025 Sudhian poll, this question was posed to South High students and staff – X% of Bruins voted for the leprechaun, proving the majority holds the correct opinion that he would dominate.
The first glaring reason why the leprechaun would win is simple – he’s Irish. There is a specific liquid, and I cannot say which as this is a PG-13 publication, but this liquid, which is known for inspiring confidence and aggression in fights, is likely a favorite for our Irish leprechaun. Although this liquid is said to weaken motor function, you do not see this happening in the pubs of Ireland where this liquid is sold. It will make the leprechaun a dirty, unpredictable fighter the softie Easter Bunny won’t see coming.
In general, leprechauns are just tricky and crafty. “The leprechaun resorts to whatever he can do, especially if his gold is involved…” wrote one staff member – and she’s right. The leprechaun has tricks up his sleeve back to the Stone Age. He gets down, he don’t play. He’ll trick the bunny into following a fake pot of gold, then BAM – bite to the ankle.
Above all, when the Easter Bunny is in the streets, the last thing he should do is cross our dirty-fighting, trickster leprechaun.
