Senior Night Swim Meet Changed by COVID

On October 20, the Fargo South Bruins Swim Team hosted the Shanley Deacons and the Wahpeton Huskies for Senior Night.

This event was supposed to be held as Parents Night, but with COVID restrictions, they couldn’t have everyone attend.

Anna Guttormson, a senior diver said that while COVID changed a lot of things this season, she is still grateful.

“Our pool was too small for COVID regulations,” she said. “This was definitely sad for my teammates and I especially on senior night, our last home meet ever.

“But, I am grateful that us seniors were able to have our parents come for a few minutes to recognize them before our meet. My mom was also one of the few who were able to time swimming events so that she could watch my sister and I in person.”

With the regular season done, the team is looking forward to EDC and state competition.

“Even though this year has been different for everyone, I’m very thankful we got a season at all!” Guttormson said.
