October Features Two Weeks of Online Learning
November 6, 2020
While distance learning may be right up some people’s alley, for myself and many others at South, it was not. Sitting at home staring at a computer screen all day is not something that many people enjoy.
According to Mr. Kennedy, who prefers in-person learning, one of the greatest challenges he experienced with distance learning was the ability to keep everyone engaged in class the entire time.
He also states that “It is much easier to see a student’s reaction and adjust or repeat what I am saying if they are confused or not getting something.”
Jerry Gibson, a freshman at South also prefers in person rather than online because he can “focus more on time management and keeping up with assignments when I go to school.”
Gabby Reich-Keller, a freshman as well states that she doesn’t mind online learning but does prefer in person. She says one plus to online is there is not as much homework, but she can’t see her friends and actually interact with her peers and her teachers.
No matter how the rest of the school year goes whether we are in-person or online, I know that we can do it!
