Review: “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction”

“My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” with David Letterman is an American reality talk show TV series hosted by David Letterman. It was released on Netflix on January 12, 2018. The series consists of interviews with one guest per episode both inside and outside a studio setting. Letterman interviews different celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Dave Chappelle, Robert Downy Jr., and others.

This TV series is far more realistic, relaxed, and at times more touching than his previous one. When David spends time talking to different people you can see how he genuinely enjoys their time together and admires his guests.

Reviews of the show from viewers have been relatively positive in that they enjoy it and find it entertaining.

There are some moments during the show that can become boring and I think they also need more episodes per season because I like how it shows viewers a different side to these celebrities.

One of my favorite episodes from the show was either Kim Kardashian or Lizzo because they shared stories that were touching to them like Kim Kardashian’s robbery story or Lizzo career. They would talk about hobbies or goals that they usually never talk about in public. In the Kim episode, she opened up about her childhood, including the OJ Simpson trial. They talked about the time when she was robbed. She said in that interview that she was scared and confused when that happened. She also said that she suffered from paranoia and anxiety about her family and safety.  In the Lizzo episode, I learned a lot from her. I learned that she participated in the Black Lives Matter protests over the death of Jamar Clark. Lizzo named her blue flute Blue Ivy. She deals with her anxiety with acupuncture and meditation, and she loves her body and ignores hate comments.

No matter if it’s a hit or not, this show is a perfect show to binge-watch with your family and friends.
