Fargo South art teacher Megan Johnson has been making and painting clay monsters for Fargo Parks every summer for the past three years. This is a project called Monstrous Imagination, where Fargo Parks hides these miniature monsters around the parks with little stories written about them. They also post hints about where to find them on the Fargo Parks Facebook page, and if someone finds a monster they can keep it.

Johnson was commissioned to make 20 monsters this year. To make them, she molds tinfoil into abstract shapes, then layers clay around it. She just lets them take a life of their own and paints them over with acrylics.

Keep an eye out for some of these monsters around the Fargo Parks this year!
