A couple weeks ago, I stumbled upon a book called Ickabog in a box of my inheritance from my grandfather’s death. I read the whole thing and thought, “For a fairytale book, this book actually seemed fitting for adults.” Ickabog is a story with lies, a mistreated monarchy, and most importantly, a monster.
This book was published in November 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. J.K Rowling did a contest for kids to draw pictures based on the sentences in this book. Those who won had their pictures published in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a way to relieve stress, anyone who does not care about the genres, or anyone who needs to do a little bit of light reading for school. I hope you can enjoy this book as much as I did.
